Camera lead has been found!

My camera lead has been found  and so I can now add a picture of Harry’s fabric. I’m no David Bailey, but you get the idea!

Fabric Obsessions

I have noticed recently that I am spending a lot of time looking at fabric – in shops, on websites and on  – well everything really!!

I think it’s mainly because I can’t decide on a fabric for Rosie. Little A is not much help – all she says is “pink” or “purple”!!

So i have narrowed it down to a selection of 3. Pink with white spots, cream with pink spots or white with pink flowers. I am erring towards the pink with white spots – not for how it will look, but because big A has chosen Beige with white spots for Harry,  I guess they will look nice together.

And if I ever find the lead for the camera I will post some pictures so my ramblings make a little more sense!

Not a happy bunny!

So the washing machine decided to stop working properly on Monday afternoon. It did the first load fine, then the second load came out covered in dirty greasy marks – so a whole load ruined. Spent all afternoon on the phone to the manufacturer as we only bought it in Feburary!! Apparently they are only responsable for fixing the machine, not reimbursing for the laundry. So now have to wait until Monday for the engineer and then send his report to the retailer to try to claim from them – what a faf!!

I also made no plans for today because the weather forecast said it would be wet here today – which was right – until 10 am and the sun came out! At least big and little A can go out in the garden 🙂

And I guess the bonus is that when little A goes for her nap I can get that sewing machine out of the box………………….

A thank you!

Harry and Rosie are, as yet, not any nearer completion. A hectic weekend meant that Mr A only managed to get the sewing machine out of the attic and so far it has managed to get as far as our bedroom – only a flight of stairs and 2 rooms to go until it reaches its final destination – the kitchen. I really must move it this evening though as I fear that another stubbed toe on the box in the dark may end in divorce!

But, for today we ( big A, little A & me) are having a lazy day – sitting in PJ’s all morning and just messing in the garden in the afternoon. We really have to take advantage of the weather and spend lots of time having fun in the newly redone garden, to which I have to say a massive thank you to my lovely hubby Mr A for an amazing job! x

Harry and Rosie

Harry and Rosie don’t actually exist – yet!! They are currently a pile of fresh drawn patterns on the kitchen side.

My 6 yr old son wanted a new teddy bear, and he wanted me to make it. He also asked if I could make a toy for his little sister (2). Not wanting her to have the same though a cat was requested.

I gave him the chance to choose the fabric in which his bear was to be made, and whilst deciding on a wet wednesday afternoon the two creatures were named. Harry and Rosie.

So this is the story of Harry the bear and Rosie the cat – neither of which is anything more than a pattern and a pile of material right now. Fingers crossed they work, as my sewing skills are….well….not fabulous – but not bad either. Above average. However my sewing skills are usually relegated to curtains and costumes for school plays.

We shall see how it goes and hopefully there will be 2 cute creatures to introduce to you very soon!
